Beat the crowds and arrive early at Bruny Island. Depart from Hobart and head south on a scenic drive toward the ferry terminal. Here you can purchase any breakfast, snacks, or lunch supplies that you may like for the day ahead before boarding the ferry. Begin your adventure with a walk highlighting the amazing coastal scenery. Follow the Cape Queen Elizabeth trail, one of Tasmania’s great short walks. Walk to Mars Bluff, Miles Beach, and see the unique rock formations. The walk is a total of 6 kilometers over mostly flat terrain coastal terrain. The next stop is the isthmus joining North and South Bruny Island. Known as 'The Neck', it's the location of the Trugannini Lookout. There are 279 stairs to the top where you will be well rewarded with fantastic views. Take a moment to explore and spot the penguin burrows among the sand dunes. Stop for some local history at Two Tree Point, Resolution Creek, and Coal Point before arriving at Adventure Bay. Adventure Bay is the main hub on Bruny Island. Relax on the beach with your own lunch or enjoy lunch at Pennicotts Seafood Restaurant (at your own expense).
