Description

The Huon Valley is a must-see destination in Tasmania. Historically, it was the centre of Tasmania's apple industry and has recently experienced a resurgence with the growth of the cider industry. During the tour, we will visit two popular cider brewers and two gin and vodka distilleries. Our adventure begins with a trip driving up the winding roads to the majestic Mt. Wellington/Kunanyi. From there, you will enjoy breathtaking views overlooking Southeast Tasmania, Tasman Peninsula and Bruny Island, followed by a scenic journey through the stunning landscapes of the Huon Valley. Nestled in a picturesque location, Willie Smith’s Apple Shed and Museum offers a captivating journey into Tasmania's apple heritage. Here, you can indulge in an Apple Pie and cider-tasting experience and gain insights into the art of cider-making from one of the passionate staff. If apple pie isn't your thing, we have a large array of cakes to choose from. The tranquil surroundings and the rich history of the orchard create an immersive and enriching visit for all apple lovers. At The Honey Pot located in the pristine Huon Valley, you will have the opportunity to taste and learn about the Tasmanian honey industry. You can sample raw natural honey varieties, including Leatherwood, Manuka, Prickly Box, and Bush Honey. New to this tour we visit the Kiln in Ranelagh, a heritage listed Oast House and grounds. At the Kiln you will try 4 very unique gins by deQuetville Distillery. Next, we will visit Pagan Cider in Cygnet where you can sample ciders in an intimate tasting room, including ciders not available anywhere else on Earth. The visit will be accompanied by lunch, offering a selection of gourmet wraps. On our return journey, we will travel along the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to Grandvewe Cheese, where we can sample gins, vodkas, and cheese with a fantastic ocean view and rolling hills. We will then travel through the town of Kettering and back into Hobart. The tour usually departs by 8:30 am from Hobart and returns around 4 pm. This tour can also be customised for groups and cruise ships. Please feel free to call or email our team for more information. Tour Inclusions • Mt.
