Vineyards and Wineries
This charming, family-owned vineyard produces a wide selection of organic cool-climate wines. Owners Ed and Annette searched high and low across Australia to find the optimum climate for grape growing. After a five-year search, they settled on the bank of Pipers Brook in 1988, which is the oldest wine producing area of Tasmania.
The clean ocean air and the extended hours of sunshine in the region make for the perfect growing conditions; it is one of very few places in Australia where cool-climate wines can be produced.
Brook Eden produces Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Rose, Sparkling Blanc de Noir and Pinot Gris. All of the wines are available for tasting and buying at the Cellar Door, and occasionally there are homemade jams and chutneys on sale that have been made using produce from the adjoining farm. Both food and wine can be enjoyed in the cottage garden on warm summer days.
