Breweries and Distilleries
Set up on a farming property near the historic village of Evandale is Van Dieman Brewing. This microbrewery produces a range of hand-crafted beers using the finest ingredients including spring water from the farm.
No additives or preservatives are used in the state of the art brewhouse. Traditional ale recipes result in beers such as Jacob's Ladder Amber Ale, Ragged Jack Pale Ale and Stacks Bluff Oatmeal Stout. Others include Giblin (a stout with six different malts), Little Hell (a seasonal special bitter) and White Hills (a light ale spiced with orange peel and coriander). UK trained brewer Will Tatchell is always experimenting and limited release brews are available from time to time like the 2012 release of the Hedgerow Barrel Aged Sour Ale.
Used water is recycled onto their farm and the spent grains are enjoyed by their cattle.
Not generally open to the public, their beers can be found in a number of restaurants and pubs as listed on their website.
